Last Monday, Jan and I visited the Black Canyon of the Gunnison near Montrose, CO.  It is a magnificent canyon with deep, vertical walls extending down 2000 feet and more to the Gunnison River below.  The thrill of the experience was somewhat tempered by the continuous overt promotion of evolutionary religion.  The official NPS story is that the process of developing this canyon began 1 billion years ago (give or take) and that the Gunnison River has been carving it’s way through this gorge at a rate of 1 inch every century for the last 2 million years.  The Bible paints a very different picture – one in which Noah’s catastrophic flood together with tremendous upheaval in the earth’s crust created both high mountains…and deep canyons in a very short period of time.

Our God, who existed in eternity past (more than one billion years ago), shaped the world He created with the waters of the flood and brought the Black Canyon into existence.
