“This past June, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (Canada) – (ETFO) held an “Inclusiveness Training” workshop to help teachers, “become more familiar with current language, sensitive to current issues, and to share best practices in supporting our LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP peers and students.”
Two things stand out in that paragraph. First, it is aimed at elementary children and their teachers – children who do not grasp and should not be confronted with issues of sexuality at such a tender age. Second, the list of groups we must learn to celebrate has grown to 15 under the rainbow banner…and I’m sure it isn’t done growing. It has gone from “H” to “LGBT” to “LGBTQIA” to the present all-inclusive list of sexual confusion. It now encompasses Lesbian, Gay, Genderqueer, Bisexual, Demisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Twospirit, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Allies, Pansexual and Polyamorus. And lest you think that’s just the Canadians being Canadian, think again. The American progressives are watching and taking notes.
