1. Acknowledge your sin and its consequences (Romans 3:10 – As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one.”; Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”; Romans 6:23a – “For the wages of sin is death…”)
  2. Understand that Jesus died in your place (Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”)
  3. Recognize that salvation is a free gift from God (John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”; Romans 6:23b – “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”)
  4. Accept God’s gift of salvation by faith (Acts:16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”; Romans 10:9 – “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”; Romans 10:13 – “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”)
