Two weeks ago, we were in Germany. Ted Fletchall, our missionary to Ingelheim, Germany, explained that the German people are still very sensitive to the excesses of World War II and warned me that they don’t like to talk about war at all. Any militaristic talk is considered by many Germans to be out of line. They would struggle with the first half of Joshua. It is a story of war that resulted in Israel taking possession of the Promised Land. It is often not a pretty picture, but it was a necessary step in the divine plan for Israel…and for us. This morning, we begin our journey through the Book of Joshua. That God did will encourage you that we serve a God who keeps His promised – even in difficult circumstances. I trust you will come along for the ride.
