There is a old hymn by this title.  It asks the question whether Jesus cares in the darkest moments of life.  “Does Jesus care when my heart is pained too deeply for mirth and song…”  When I have lost my loved one, does Jesus care?  When I have come face to face with my sin and it is exposed for all to see, does Jesus care?  When my child abandons Christ for the fleeting pleasures of this world and wants nothing more to do with me…does Jesus care?  The song writer answers his own question: “O yes, He cares: I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”  God Himself said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5)  The weight of any problem is lessened by the knowledge that our greatest Friend does, indeed, care.
